Tall Ships in San Francisco!!!

Hi everyone, just a quick update as to what I’ve been up to lately. Over the weekend my wife and I went with my parents to San Francisco to check out some “tall ships”, which are sailing ships for my mom’s birthday. She’s really into this kind of stuff and I thought it was really cool too. We went on a huge Coast Guard sailing ship that is used to train cadets how to sail. We spoke with several of the crew and overheard one of the cadets giving a tour of the ship and what he experienced to his parents. It was pretty cool to hear and see.

We also went on a “pirate ship”! It was used in the movies “Mutiny on the Bounty” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Treasure Island”. It was really neat to go down to the lower decks and see how the crew live and work on the working and still sailing ship. You can even sail on it to Hawaii, which takes about 3 weeks to get there. Pretty neat.

IndyMac Bank Implodes!

IndyMac Bank has gone out of business! Here is an message I received from one of my wholesale account executives with the bank:

Indy Mac is closing TODAY. The entire Marlton NJ office is apparently being shut down and their other operations offices are closing. All wholesale operations are gone.”

As this news rolls across the country, we will keep you updated on developments. One source says as many as 4,000 people will be laid off. It’s early in the day, but an official announcement is expected within hours as to the extent of the shutdown.

So, another bank bites the dust. Sad but true. Unfortunately many people are affected by this bank’s closure such as the thousands of employees that will now be out of a job and the home owners that were in the process of a loan transaction. Hopefully they all find solutions for their new problem and if any of you reading this know of anyone that needs help with their loan as a result, or a job, don’t hesitate to contact me, or have them contact me. Thanks!
